About the position

The Commercial Client Onboarding Specialist II at Fifth Third Bank is responsible for managing the onboarding process for commercial clients, ensuring a seamless experience from account setup to closing. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, Relationship Managers (RMs), and Treasury Management Officers (TMOs), providing high-touch support and ensuring all documentation requirements are met. The specialist will leverage their expertise to navigate complex situations, enhance client satisfaction, and drive revenue recognition through efficient onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new account/service onboarding and account closing for Wholesale clients.
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through timely responses and effective communication with RMs and TMOs.
  • Manage client expectations and drive problem resolution, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Provide guidance on required client documentation to support relationships, including resolutions, agreements, and tax documentation.
  • Maintain proactive communication with RMs and TMOs to ensure a superior customer experience.
  • Orchestrate the handoff to the Servicing Team to maintain positive customer experience.
  • Participate in internal implementation meetings and track the status of product/service implementations.
  • Own the completion of the Customer Identification Program (CIP) for new entity account setups.
  • Facilitate RM approval of CIP and elevate customer cross-sell requests to the Sales Team.
  • Regularly review client onboarding assignments and lead proactive handoffs to Client Servicing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of banking experience, including Commercial Banking experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated client service experience, both phone and face-to-face.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and facilitate decision-making.
  • Ability to cope with complexity and adapt to high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products, including Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Experience with Treasury Management products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience supporting multiple lines of business and verticals.
