An Assistant Project Manager (APM) at HITT plays a crucial role in the construction process by obtaining, evaluating, coordinating, and distributing the necessary information and authorizations to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The APM is responsible for protecting and promoting the interests of both the business and the client in all matters related to the project. This position is designed for individuals who are at the beginning of their leadership journey, and while the learning paths and promotional opportunities may vary, most team members serve as APMs for a duration of two to six years. The APM will maintain adherence to HITT's safety standards, ensuring that all required documentation is properly filed. They will assist in creating and managing the project budget for all assigned projects and develop pre-construction RFP packages. Conducting project meetings, setting milestones, and formulating monthly owner reports are also key responsibilities. The APM will establish job processes, including RFIs, submittals, and pay applications, and will be involved in approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders. Additionally, the APM will update the project schedule, ensure project quality control, and establish overall project logistics while collaborating closely with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
