About the position

The Commercial Construction Estimator at Structural Unlimited Construction is responsible for estimating commercial steel and wood supply and install projects. This role involves interacting with clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial estimation to project completion, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes. The estimator will utilize Procore and other software to create and manage project files, budgets, and change orders, requiring strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients from project inception to completion.
• Estimate commercial steel and wood supply and install projects, including field take-offs, budgets, and change orders.
• Communicate effectively with clients, sales staff, and management.
• Create, maintain, and manage project files during the estimating process.
• Utilize Procore and other software for estimating commercial projects.
• Provide excellent telephone coverage and manage urgent calls with professionalism.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Write estimates, change orders, photo reports, and proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience in steel and wood construction.
• Proven experience in commercial construction.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong learning abilities and proficiency with office technology, particularly MS Office.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Procore software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
