About the position

As the Maintenance Stores Supervisor at Ferrero's Chicago manufacturing plant, you will play a crucial role in leading and supervising the Plant MRO Stores crews. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the Maintenance Department has the necessary parts and supplies, as well as managing production materials that are secured within the Stores area. You will be responsible for overseeing Inventory Control and ensuring that all technical assets and materials management aspects are effectively handled for all Production Departments. Your collaboration will extend to a wide range of Plant Leaders, including those in Production, Procurement, Finance, and Plant Controller roles, as well as external vendors and contractors, to ensure the efficient supply and turnover of resources. In this role, you will support and execute Stores improvement processes and projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of Storeroom operations. You will direct and lead the day-to-day activities of the Stores crew, promoting a culture of safety and demanding adherence to safety protocols from your team. Additionally, you will implement Plant-specific Stores strategies to meet the Plant's Key Performance Goals, manage the Stores budget effectively, and identify training and development opportunities for your crew. Your ability to communicate effectively with groups on a regular basis will be essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and executes Stores improvement processes and projects that improve the Storeroom operations and efficiency.
  • Directs and leads the day-to-day Stores work and activities.
  • Promotes 'Safety' and demands it from the entire Stores crew.
  • Supports and executes Plant specific Stores strategies to achieve Plant's Key Performance Goals for overall Performance.
  • Understands and strictly manages to the Stores budget.
  • Needs to have in-depth working knowledge of the Plant's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Responsible for recognizing training and development opportunities within the Stores crews.
  • Collaborates with the HR/LR group to ensure that the Stores crews follow all Company and Plant rules.
  • Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate to groups on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • A Technical BS degree is preferred in addition to practical experience (5 yrs.) in food manufacturing, packaging technologies and Project Management.
  • Broad understanding of Storeroom Management, maintenance practices and manufacturing technologies.
  • Proven Inventory Management Control experience.
  • Usable knowledge of typical desktop software packages, i.e. MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Excellent leadership qualities, communication, and management skills.
