The Commercial Credit Analyst I position at GM Financial is a future opportunity role, meaning there is no specific timeline for when the position may be filled. As a Commercial Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for researching and analyzing credit risks, assessing credit history, and making decisions regarding the extension of credit to potential commercial customers. This involves developing and maintaining positive business relationships with dealers, field sales staff, and supporting departments within GM Financial. You will analyze commercial credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit and make prudent business decisions to approve or deny credit requests within established authority. The role also requires effective communication with dealership personnel to ensure volume objectives and credit quality are met while maintaining acceptable service levels. The position is based in Arlington, Texas, and follows a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of working from home and in the assigned office location. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously, and possess excellent customer service skills. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of GM Financial's credit processes and fostering strong relationships with dealers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze credit risks associated with commercial credit applications.
  • Assess credit history and make decisions to approve or deny credit extensions to potential commercial customers.
  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with dealers and field sales staff.
  • Analyze financial statements, collateral, debt service, and personal financial statements as applicable to commercial transactions.
  • Maintain consistent purchase policy based on dealer support and management direction.
  • Perform outbound calls to educate GM dealers on GM Financial Commercial products.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of credit underwriting preferred.
  • Understanding of dealer operations preferred.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions based on policies and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills and self-motivated.

Nice-to-haves
