About the position

The Commercial Growth Plan Director at Diageo is responsible for aligning brand strategies with the commercial roadmap to identify strategic growth levers that will help achieve the company's business objectives. This role involves driving a proactive culture among commercial leaders, focusing on sustainable revenue growth, quality share, and profitability through rigorous analytics and insights tailored to market needs. The Director will work closely with various commercial functions to prioritize high-value opportunities across categories, segments, brands, and geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Align brand strategies with the commercial roadmap to identify strategic growth levers.
  • Define sources of growth across categories, geographies, channels, and brands.
  • Develop price architecture, promotional tactics, and trade optimization guidelines.
  • Lead innovation pricing strategy and assortment recommendations.
  • Partner with Growth Insights Team to inform commercial planning and operations.
  • Develop insights foundation and conduct elasticity/switching analyses.
  • Influence market-level budgets and priorities for trade spend and promotional investments.
  • Support markets in developing and implementing comprehensive growth plans.

Requirements

  • Graduate/MBA preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of commercial experience in beverage-alcohol or similar industry.
  • End-to-end commercial knowledge and P&L experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Distributor Management/Operations.
  • Experience with Key Customer Management (Regional or National).
  • Proficiency in analytics, category management, and financial metrics.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both strategic and operational environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Consumer Product Goods.
  • Leadership skills in engagement, influence, prioritization, simplification, collaboration, and orchestration.
