About the position

The Electrical Service Technician role at M.C. Dean involves providing high-quality electrical installations and services for commercial clients. This position is part of the Service & National Accounts Group, which operates around the clock to ensure customer satisfaction and safety. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service in a family-oriented work culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain EMS systems, smart breakers, electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using test devices.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and correct problems.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience working in the commercial electrical service industry.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all electrical tools including testing equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of using smart devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) and comfortable using multiple web-based applications.
  • Commitment to excellence and generating high-quality work.
  • Ability to consistently report to work on time and maintain a safe work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possess a journeyman's license or equivalent in the appropriate jurisdiction.
  • Any other relevant certifications (e.g., Lift and Aerial Training, NFPA 70E, OSHA 30).
