About the position

As a Commercial Estimator at Perfect Touch Fencing, you will play a crucial role in our project development process. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately estimate the costs associated with commercial construction projects, ensuring that our bids are competitive and profitable. This position requires a keen understanding of construction processes and the ability to analyze various factors that influence project costs. You will be expected to review project plans, specifications, and drawings to fully understand the project requirements, which will form the basis of your estimates. In this role, you will conduct thorough material take-offs and labor assessments to determine project costs. This involves soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids and quotes, which requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to clarify project details and requirements. You will also be responsible for analyzing project risks and opportunities, adjusting estimates accordingly to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. Preparing comprehensive and competitive bid proposals within specified deadlines is a critical aspect of your job. You will participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed, which will help you gather necessary information to refine your estimates. Maintaining accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation on Excel spreadsheets is essential for tracking project progress and ensuring accountability.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience as a Commercial Estimator in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift) is a plus.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• Must have a valid Driver License to travel in the state of Texas.
