About the position

Azenta Life Sciences is seeking a FP&A Manager - Commercial to join our growing and dynamic organization. Reporting to the CFO, Sample Management Solutions, this position will provide Commercial and FP&A leadership for the segment. This is a strategic role that will support Vice President Sales, for the segment and his/her extended team. Collaborate with business & commercial leaders to develop strategic plans, build commercial finance processes, evaluate commercial structures, and provide finance support for new growth ideas. Working closely with the broader FP&A and finance team this position will also be the focal for the segments FP&A reporting and will interact with Corporate functions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with commercial team on growth ideas, deal structuring and pricing.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of product and services offerings and customer base, to provide creative solutions to the sales team.
  • Analyze various revenue streams and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop analytics to measure trends and performance, and provide actionable insights to enable growth.
  • Oversee contract structuring processes, ensuring terms are financially viable and align with company objectives.
  • Review deals and contracts to assess financial implications and provide recommendations for optimal outcomes.
  • Advise on pricing strategies based on market trends, cost structures, and competitive landscape.
  • Own the review and analysis of Total Contract Value for backlog and commissions.
  • Conduct thorough sales and incentives analysis to evaluate performance and effectiveness of incentive programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop & manage sales compensation plans.
  • Develop and strengthen Commercial Finance processes, lead initiatives to improve reporting across CRM and business intelligence tools.
  • Lead planning and forecasting of commercial operating expenses and Head Count.
  • Regularly analyze & report commercial operating expenses and head count.
  • Develop sales and booking forecasts and budgets for the commercial organization for all company planning cycles.
  • Develop, analyze, and distribute financial reports used in the day-to-day financial planning and analysis for the Commercial organization.
  • Collaborate with broader SMS and Corporate FP&A teams, provide necessary support and information for various initiatives and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the annual planning process including the development of targets, timelines, templates and required deliverables and consolidation of the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Prepare executive presentations, including monthly operating reviews and analysis used for Board updates and investor presentations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Commercial Finance cadences and reporting to drive strategic growth.
  • Lead data, process, and reporting improvement initiatives; collaborate with Technology to automate and simplify.
  • Provide people leadership to direct and/or indirect report(s) where applicable.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of combined commercial finance and FP&A experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree Finance and Accounting, MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of business partnership in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Requires the ability to prioritize assignments and be self-directed.
  • Strong process focus; Six Sigma and/or Lean trained; strong project management skills.
  • Highly proficient in digital tools (excel, ppt), ERP (Oracle, HFM, OneStream), data analytics tools (Tableau etc).
  • Strong verbal/written communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze data to generate meaningful insights.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX preferred.
