About the position

The Commercial Financial Analyst at Kodiak Cakes plays a crucial role in the Commercial Finance team, providing financial insights and analysis to support sales, marketing, and product development. This position is integral in assessing financial performance, driving profitability, and delivering actionable insights that foster commercial growth. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize revenue and ensure alignment with corporate financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sales performance, trade spend, and promotional effectiveness to optimize revenue growth and identify areas for cost savings.
• Provide detailed analysis of gross margins, product profitability, and pricing strategies to ensure alignment with financial goals.
• Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Trade), ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives.
• Assess category trends, customer profitability, and promotional impacts to drive insights and recommendations for the sales team.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to provide financial guidance and analysis for new product launches, pricing strategies, and marketing investments.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools (e.g., Vena, Blue Planner) to enhance reporting, forecasting, and decision-making capabilities.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects related to commercial finance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support commercial and financial objectives.

Requirements

• 1+ years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably Finance, Accounting, or Economics
• Advanced Excel and Power Point skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
• Ability to manage many projects and effectively prioritize
