About the position

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation of commercial HVAC equipment across various vertical markets. This role involves managing project scope, ensuring clear communication with clients and contractors, and maintaining project schedules and budgets. The Project Manager will also be expected to develop a comprehensive project plan, conduct progress meetings, and ensure adherence to safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets.
• Represent the company positively in all client and architect/engineer interactions.
• Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables.
• Oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
• Develop a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets.
• Conduct Work in Progress meetings.
• Develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS); Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus.
• Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
• Convey professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management.
• Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Accurately forecast revenue each month by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed.
• Execute all major functions required for project management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
• Manage the Change Order process to prevent scope creep.
• Ensure that all projects are managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin.
• Prioritize job safety on every project.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in project management or 2+ years in mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, or construction field.
• Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification
• PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification
• Associates Degree in electrical engineering or project management
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with strong adherence to deadlines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
