About the position

As an Apprentice with Carrier, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer comfort by learning and applying skills in Commercial HVAC. This position involves working on various installations, repairs, and maintenance projects, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about their trade to enhance their skills while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
• Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls.
• Install new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps.
• Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems.
• Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; clean coils, blowers, check motors, and belt tensions.
• Assemble and install metal ductwork.
• Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems.
• Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations.
• Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely.
• Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• A valid driver's license is required
• Ability to enter into the Union Apprentice Program or currently enrolled
• Push/pull/lift up to 50lbs
