As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing startup, maintenance, and repair operations on complex heating and cooling systems, ensuring that all work meets our high standards of quality and safety. You will represent CoolSys to our customers, fostering effective communication and positive relationships while delivering top-notch service. In this role, you will perform journey-level HVAC work, which includes the installation, startup, and repair of a wide variety of systems such as RTUs, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, air handlers, and more. You will also lead a team, assign work to semi-skilled workers, and inspect their work to ensure compliance with established standards. Your responsibilities will require you to work in varying weather conditions and at different heights, utilizing ladders and adhering to strict safety protocols. You will also be expected to train semi-skilled workers, supervise inventory on service trucks, and maintain accurate records of parts and supplies. Responsibilities

  • Perform startup, maintenance, and repair operations on complex heating and cooling systems.
  • Install, start up, and repair a variety of HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, and heat pumps.
  • Lead a team and assign work to semi-skilled workers, inspecting their work for quality and compliance.
  • Train semi-skilled workers in procedures, methods, and the use of tools.
  • Supervise and participate in inventory management of parts, supplies, and tools on service trucks.
  • Operate computerized scheduling and troubleshooting systems for heating and cooling controls.
  • Strictly adhere to OSHA safety standards and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers and represent the company positively.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of large commercial HVAC experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC principles, techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry objects, with a minimum capacity of 50 lbs and occasional 75 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
  • Hold a valid CFC certification, preferably.

Nice-to-haves

  • HVAC Contractors license preferred.
  • Start-up experience is beneficial but can be trained.
