About the position

The Commercial HVAC Technician at Crete United is responsible for providing reactive and preventative maintenance services for commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The technician will also be involved in equipment replacements, system updates, and maintaining inventory, all while contributing to a culture of teamwork and integrity within the company.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment such as air handlers, split systems, walk-in coolers, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to prevent unexpected failures.
• Disassemble and remove existing equipment, install and program new equipment ensuring proper operation.
• Update internal and customer portals with time on site, repair details, part information, and pictures.
• Identify part information and work with local suppliers and distributors to obtain necessary parts.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, peers, internal departments, and leadership.
• Maintain and upkeep truck inventory, vehicle cleanliness, business attire, company phone, and other property.

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• Universally EPA Certified (ideal).
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built-up systems and package units, including chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers, and air handling systems.
• Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls, and packaged HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience.
