About the position

The Inside Sales Engineer at Carrier Enterprise serves as a vital support resource for customers, partners, and the Commercial sales team. This role is essential in ensuring that the sales team has the technical expertise and product knowledge necessary to effectively engage with clients and provide tailored solutions. The Inside Sales Engineer will work closely with the commercial sales team, acting as a technical advisor and advocate for Carrier Enterprise's products. This position requires a strong understanding of specifications and plans to accurately configure, price, and quote technical and financial solutions that position Carrier Enterprise as a competitive option in the marketplace. In this role, the Inside Sales Engineer will respond to new business opportunities generated from sales leads provided by Account or Sales Managers. They will be responsible for generating quotes for Commercial sales associated with assigned accounts. The Inside Sales Engineer will also support Account Managers and Sales Managers in managing both new and existing accounts, as well as introducing new products to Engineers and Mechanical Contractors. This includes completing bids, submittals, and take-offs based on plan reviews and specifications to support Commercial sales efforts. The position involves extensive interaction with customers, manufacturers, and the sales team, primarily through phone and email communication. The Inside Sales Engineer will also assist in training Commercial dealers as needed and will be tasked with resolving customer issues in alignment with the company's mission, values, and financial objectives. Maintaining professional business relationships with target or assigned accounts is crucial, as is providing updates on ongoing and future projects. Additionally, the Inside Sales Engineer will identify and communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to foster future growth. Travel may be required to support presentations and trade show activities, further enhancing the visibility and reach of Carrier Enterprise's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to new business opportunities based on sales leads from Account or Sales Managers and generating quotes for Commercial sales with assigned accounts.
  • Supports Account Managers and Sales Managers with new accounts, existing accounts, and introduction of new products to Engineers and Mechanical Contractors.
  • Completes bids, submittals and take offs based on plan reviews and specifications in support of Commercial.
  • Follows up on quotes, bids, and submittals to complete the sale.
  • Engages in extensive interaction with customers, manufacturers, and sales team via phone & e-mail.
  • Assists with training as needed for our Commercial dealers.
  • Resolves customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Maintains professional business relationships with target or assigned accounts.
  • Provides status of ongoing projects and future projects.
  • Identifies and communicates customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.
  • Travels as needed with the Sales Team to support presentations and trade show activities.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial products and solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in generating quotes and managing bids.
  • Experience in customer service and relationship management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales teams and other departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the HVAC industry or related fields.
  • Familiarity with sales software and CRM systems.
  • Previous experience in a technical sales role.
