About the position

The Inside Sales Engineer at Carrier Enterprise is a key support resource for customers, partners, and the Commercial sales team. This role involves collaborating with the sales team as a technical advisor and product advocate, focusing on configuring, pricing, and quoting HVAC solutions that meet customer needs. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to read specifications and plans to effectively support sales efforts and customer interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to new business opportunities based on sales leads from Account or Sales Managers and generating quotes for Commercial sales with assigned accounts.
  • Supports Account Managers and Sales Managers with new accounts, existing accounts, and introduction of new products to Engineers and Mechanical Contractors.
  • Completes bids, submittals, and take-offs based on plan reviews and specifications in support of Commercial.
  • Follows up on quotes, bids, and submittals to complete the sale.
  • Engages in extensive interaction with customers, manufacturers, and sales team via phone & e-mail.
  • Assists with training as needed for our Commercial dealers.
  • Resolves customer issues or difficulties in a manner consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Maintains professional business relationships with target or assigned accounts.
  • Provides status of ongoing projects and future projects.
  • Identifies and communicates customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.
  • Travels as needed with the Sales Team to support presentations and trade show activities.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems
  • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with CRM/Database tools
  • Experience working with contractors is desired
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one-year relevant work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior HVAC Experience a plus
  • A willingness to learn is a must have
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
