Prior to starting any job, the installer must assess the specific needs of the project, documenting the full scope of installation or service required. This includes identifying any additional work that may need to be performed and ensuring that all alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions are noted. The installer will also engage in minor framing work, adjustments, and maintenance of the tools and vehicles provided by Wayne Dalton of Kennewick. A key aspect of the role is to maintain an appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle to facilitate efficient service and installation work. In addition to technical skills, the installer is expected to represent Wayne Dalton Corp. professionally when interacting with customers. This includes explaining the work to be performed, describing the operating functions and safety systems of the installed products, and providing proper maintenance instructions to customers. After each service or installation call, the installer is responsible for cleaning the work area and properly disposing of any waste. Communication with the company regarding job progress and completion is essential, as is the handling of billing and payment documentation. Overall, this position requires a blend of technical skills, customer service, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Take down used commercial doors and equipment.
  • Install new commercial doors, operators, and associated equipment.
  • Evaluate installation/service requirements for each job.
  • Ensure appropriate tools and equipment are available and functioning before work begins.
  • Document the full installation/service needs for each job.
  • Identify any additional work required and measures for approved installation.
  • Note alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions before starting work.
  • Perform minor work in framing, build-ins, and adjustments.
  • Service and install Wayne Dalton Corp. commercial garage doors and operators.
  • Maintain care and maintenance of tools and vehicles provided by Wayne Dalton of Kennewick.
  • Maintain an appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle for service/installation work.
  • Represent Wayne Dalton Corp. professionally with customers.
  • Explain the work performed and provide descriptions of operating functions and safety systems.
  • Clean work area and dispose of trash appropriately after each service/installation call.
  • Communicate job progress and completion via radio dispatch system.
  • Provide billing documents to consumers and accept payments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Three to six months of related service, installation, or construction experience is preferred.
