About the position

As an intern in Commercial Education & Training at The Toro Company, you'll be a valuable contributing member of the team developing a training course for our Commercial distributor audience. This involves using best practices to assess the scope of the training, work with subject matter experts to determine the content of the training, arrange the content of the training into the course, use a variety of e-learning and visual graphics platforms to create the course, determine the test questions for the course, and assist the team in planning for the evaluation of the course. At the end of your internship, you will have a completed training course that is sure to educate learners well and make a difference. This course can be used in a portfolio as well (as long as proprietary/confidential information is removed), resulting in a great show-and-tell piece for your job interviews later!

Responsibilities

  • Assess the scope of the training
  • Work with subject matter experts to determine the content of the training
  • Arrange the content of the training into the course
  • Use a variety of e-learning and visual graphics platforms to create the course
  • Determine the test questions for the course
  • Assist the team in planning for the evaluation of the course

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related program
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Experience with Articulate Rise or Articulate Storyline is a plus
  • Experience with Camtasia/Photoshop or other video/graphics software is a plus
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills with a high attention to detail
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Creative systems-thinking approach to adult learning and education
  • Ability to initiate and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts
