About the position

The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for providing exceptional service to clients, producers, and company personnel while managing and expanding commercial accounts. This role involves planning and implementing insurance programs, maintaining knowledge of industry developments, and ensuring efficient processing of transactions. The Account Manager will also provide technical support to producers and educate clients on coverage and audit procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Collectively plans, designs, and implements appropriate insurance programs for clients that coincide with agency guidelines.
  • Maintains knowledge of new developments or changes with various carriers and new Federal/State laws that may affect clients' business.
  • Consults, informs, and educates clients about coverage, exclusions, and exposures; documents electronic filing accordingly.
  • Provides technical support to Producers regarding coverage, proposals, and suspense items.
  • Prepares necessary proposals, summaries of insurance, and applications; submits them to appropriate insureds and carriers, and obtains clients' signatures on all applications.
  • Follows up to ensure timely responses in conjunction with Producers.
  • Remarkets, contacts clients, and follows up in conjunction with producers; renews policies by agency standards.
  • Consults, informs, and educates clients about audit procedures in conjunction with producers.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance experience required.
  • Active General Lines or Property & Casualty License required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability and desire to work with people.
  • Above average mathematical skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills required, with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accountable for own actions and delivers on commitments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Applied Epic experience preferred, but knowledge of similar Account Management System (AMS) is acceptable.
