About the position

The Commercial Lines Account Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Sales Executive and clients by providing essential service and marketing responsibilities. This position involves managing client accounts, ensuring timely service delivery, and maintaining high-quality standards set by the agency. The ideal candidate will work primarily on-site in Wheeling, Illinois, with some flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Sales Executive/Account Executive in analyzing client needs.
  • Accompany Sales Executive/Account Executive on prospect and client meetings as needed.
  • Complete applications and submit them to appropriate carriers, following up for timely quotations.
  • Order and issue binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and verify their accuracy before forwarding to clients.
  • Determine billing methods and invoice clients accordingly.
  • Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals for clients.
  • Review audits of policies for accuracy and facilitate necessary corrections.
  • Process incoming mail and phone requests promptly within company guidelines.
  • Utilize agency credit and collection policy for invoicing and payment follow-ups.
  • Act to save accounts from cancellation requests and notify Sales Executive/Account Executive.
  • Assist clients in submitting claims and follow up on their status according to agency procedures.
  • Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverages in coordination with Sales Executive/Account Executive.
  • Maintain accurate information in the Applied EPIC system.

Requirements

  • College education with a minimum of 3 years insurance experience or a minimum of 5 years insurance experience.
  • Valid Property Casualty Broker-Agent license is required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to explain complex issues and interpret information.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and markets.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks with various variables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AMS360 (1 year preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in Commercial Lines insurance.
