About the position
The Commercial Insurance Underwriter position at GIC Underwriters, Inc. involves selecting and pricing new business risks in accordance with company guidelines while fostering strong relationships with customers. Responsibilities
- Select and price new business risks according to company service promises and underwriting guidelines.
- Develop and maintain lasting relationships with customers to achieve company goals.
- Coach new team members to help them grow in their professional insurance careers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of prior underwriting experience in Commercial Property & Casualty or at least 5 years of prior business experience.
- Experience in non-underwriting insurance roles such as sales or claims handling.
- Experience in financial services such as banking, mortgage underwriting, financial consulting, asset management, or business analysis.
- Experience in legal services such as attorney or paralegal.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in underwriting is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
