About the position

LWC Incorporated is seeking a full-time Commercial Interior Designer to join their award-winning team in Dayton, Ohio. The role involves managing various commercial design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to processes, budgets, and schedules. The designer will work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality interior design solutions for a range of facilities including schools, healthcare, and office spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects of various sizes from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to processes and schedules.
  • Create, read, and understand drawings and blueprints.
  • Collaborate with contractors, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators to meet project objectives.
  • Assist with installation coordination and project management as needed.
  • Interface with clients to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Contribute to ongoing business development and marketing efforts, maintaining client relationships.
  • Explore and identify new opportunities to enhance professional services with existing clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in leading and designing commercial projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, and PowerPoint; excellent freehand drawing skills are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in space planning, construction documentation, interior detailing, and selection of materials.
  • Understanding of architectural construction documents including floor plans, sections, elevations, and details.
  • Ability to calculate figures, square footage, and read blueprints effectively.
  • High interpersonal, written, and graphic communication skills to express concepts to clients and project teams.
  • Strong ability to drive work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex design issues.

Nice-to-haves
