About the position

The Commercial Interior Designer at Pigott, Inc. is responsible for delivering high-quality design work to clients, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role involves collaborating with clients and other designers to develop layouts, specifications, and finish selections, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. The designer will also engage in client meetings, site visits, and post-occupancy evaluations to ensure customer satisfaction and project integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Attend initial client meetings with sales to gather programming data.
  • Develop layouts, specifications, and finish selections, ensuring compliance with code and ADA requirements.
  • Collaborate with other designers to create layouts, specifications, fee proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Review all plans for design integrity and completeness.
  • Maintain contact with clients during critical phases of each job, including site visits as appropriate.
  • Participate in reviewing the work of outside contractors.
  • Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and punch list reviews.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, products, and technology.
  • Market to prospective clients and assist in developing sales strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or equivalent degree in interior design or a related field.
  • Prior experience in interior design, space planning, facility planning, architectural drafting, AutoCAD, or furniture specification is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MillerKnoll and Falkbuilt furnishings.
  • Knowledge of CET (Configura) software.
