About the position

The Commercial Leasing Agent is responsible for identifying and securing prospective retail tenants for a large commercial real estate company with a diverse portfolio of retail properties. This role involves researching and analyzing potential tenants, negotiating lease agreements, and collaborating with various teams to ensure tenant satisfaction and property management. Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and make recommendations concerning prospective tenants for shopping centers based on credit/financing impact, tenant mix, and return on investment.
• Evaluate leasing situations and predetermine alternate courses of action.
• Understand lease documents and utilize expertise in originating, negotiating, and completing new and renewal leases.
• Canvass, cold call, and qualify prospective national and regional area tenants.
• Develop and implement traditional and nontraditional leasing strategies to attract prospective tenants.
• Collect financial information and perform due diligence on prospective tenants.
• Serve as the liaison between the internal construction team and tenants regarding new buildouts.
• Collaborate with property management to handle tenant requests efficiently.
• Oversee the creation and updating of marketing materials related to leasing opportunities.
• Support company strategies in the development of retail properties.

Requirements

• 5+ years of current commercial real estate industry experience with a proven track record of success.
• Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Customer service-focused interpersonal skills.
• Must have an active driver's license.
