About the position

The Commercial Lending Support Supervisor at Mid Penn Bank plays a crucial role in assisting Commercial Loan Officers with their loan portfolios and ensuring the smooth operation of commercial lending support activities. This position involves providing guidance and training to other Commercial Lending Specialists, managing administrative tasks, and maintaining strong relationships with business customers to enhance service delivery and cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares line of credit advances and other loan transactions as needed; processes construction draws.
  • Meets with customers on behalf of Commercial Loan Officers to sign documents and distribute proceeds when requested.
  • Creates and organizes commercial loan files; checks files for accuracy; reviews checklist for all documents needed.
  • Processes title insurance policies.
  • Prepares memos, various reports and letters, and performs other administrative duties for the Commercial Loan Officers as assigned.
  • Provides guidance and training to other department personnel.
  • Ensures commercial lending support activities run smoothly and efficiently for assigned area.
  • Maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to provide a secondary Commercial Services contact and take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
  • Monitors reports for portfolio management of assigned lenders as needed, including exceptions, financials, and renewals.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Works with loan officers to resolve post-closing issues, provide customer service, etc.
  • Resolves customer issues and problems; provides assistance to employees with customer loan questions.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Orders supplies for the department as needed.
  • Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
  • Provides backup for other areas of the department as needed.

  • Supervises assigned employees (if applicable). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Partners with members of the Human Resources team to source, select, and onboard new employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work.
  • Manages employee time and attendance; ensures accuracy of time and attendance records; approves timecards in a timely manner for payroll processing.
  • Manages employee performance and behavior; provides timely documented feedback; partners with employee to complete a written Individual Development Plan.
  • Motivates team members by using appropriate methods of reward and recognition.
  • Openly communicates with team regarding pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs.
  • Ensures all assigned employees adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the organization's compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that assigned employees complete all mandatory compliance and regulatory training assigned by the stated due date.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) year's related experience normally required.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate computer skills, including working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills.
