About the position

Heffernan Insurance Brokers is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join its Commercial Lines team in Petaluma, CA. This dynamic role focuses on providing innovative strategies to meet customers' insurance and risk management needs, ensuring effective account management and marketing for assigned clients.

Responsibilities

• Marketing and account management for assigned clients.
• Coordinate all aspects of the renewal marketing process with clients and provide program structure, review, and analysis.
• Prepare account specifications, negotiate pricing, and finalize policy conditions.
• Prepare summaries to be transmitted with policies and ensure timely transmission of policies.
• Prepare invoices and work with staff to issue Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and Evidence of Insurance (EOIs) promptly.
• Prepare account proposals for presentation to clients.
• Provide technical competence in areas of coverage and current markets.
• Explain and clarify coverage forms to clients.
• Manage account services and coordinate activities effectively.
• Expand existing accounts by developing new coverages.
• Maintain thorough documentation on each account, following proper E&O procedures.
• Handle complex accounts and undertake other duties and special technical projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School graduate/GED.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in an Account Management or related position.
• Active P&C insurance license is required.
• CIC or equivalent designation preferred, such as CPCU or ARM.
• Adaptable, self-starter with experienced decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral.
• Problem-solving, analytical, and marketing skills required.
• Organized and able to manage time effectively.
• Proficient with MS Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
