About the position

The Commercial Lines Account Manager at Rue Insurance serves as a Trusted Advisor, acting as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers. This role focuses on providing exceptional client service and advisory support for a book of business, primarily managing accounts with premiums above $25k. The Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring timely and accurate servicing of policies, and supporting the department's new business and retention goals. A hybrid work schedule is available after 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the servicing responsibilities of a book of business, including policy renewals and requests for policy changes.
  • Process client coverage renewals in a timely manner, including obtaining updated client data and renewal quotations.
  • Prepare marketing submissions for the Marketing Department when remarketing is requested.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to educate clients and offer enhanced coverage recommendations.
  • Handle all client requests in a timely, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships to support departmental retention goals.
  • Provide clear responses on coverage or billing questions to ensure client understanding.
  • Follow agency processes and procedures, including documentation and records retention guidelines.
  • Accompany producers on client visits as requested.
  • Participate in educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Valid NJ Property/Casualty/Life/Health Licenses, as applicable
  • 3-5 years Commercial Lines Account Management experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional insurance designation(s)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service mindset and skills
  • Ability to multi-task and complete work with a sense of urgency
  • Basic computer aptitude and skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of insurance company rating systems
  • Experience with Applied Systems Epic
