Responsibilities
- Evaluates new business and commercial lines renewals to select new risks to underwrite and renewals to maintain according to underwriting guidelines.
- Provides guidance and service to producers and/or authorized representatives by telephone, in writing or in person.
- Provides follow-up to new businesses that are listed to close them.
- Evaluates the loss experience of the policies to be renewed, identifies cases with adverse experience, takes measures or requests notice of non-renewal for them.
- Evaluate, quote and issue commercial lines new policies, endorsements and renewals.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management and that are essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferably with 1 to 3 years of experience as an Underwriter Commercial Lines.
- Or instead, Associate's degree, (60-64 college credit) with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Or instead, 7 or more years of experience as a Subscriber-Commercial Lines.
- CIC or CISR Designation, preferable, continuing education in Insurance.
