About the position

As a Paralegal in our Litigation practice group, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse cases, hone your legal skills, and make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment. You will assist attorneys in preparing a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Your responsibilities will also include editing and proofreading work product to ensure accuracy and adherence to high-quality standards. Additionally, you will coordinate with attorneys to manage case deadlines and prepare for trials, track and enter billable and non-billable hours on a daily basis, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality for all firm and client information. Providing exceptional customer service and support to both internal and external clients will be a key aspect of your role. You will also be expected to develop and maintain specialized knowledge of assigned attorneys' practice areas and clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in commercial and/or general business litigation
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and Florida state court rules
  • Previous trial experience is required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Experience in a mid-to large-size law firm is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with legal software such as Xera and Concordance is highly desired
  • Familiarity with document management systems and time entry software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies
