About the position

We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team at an AmLaw firm with over 30 offices globally. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a keen understanding of the legal industry, responsible for handling various tasks related to commercial litigation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to high-profile cases and collaborating closely with experienced attorneys.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of commercial litigation, including case management, document review, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and factual investigation to support case preparation.
  • Manage aspects of e-discovery, including the collection, processing, review, and production of electronic data.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
  • Maintain case files, calendars, and databases to ensure information is updated and readily accessible.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Monitor developments in commercial litigation law to keep the team updated on any changes.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of sensitive client information.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Litigation Paralegal.
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in e-discovery, including the use of e-discovery software.
  • Excellent research skills with a high level of proficiency in using legal research platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of court rules, procedures, and evidence rules.
  • Strong commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality rules.
