About the position

The Commercial Loan Assistant 2 plays a crucial role in supporting Commercial Bankers by managing a large and complex commercial loan portfolio. This position requires providing timely assistance, ensuring compliance with bank guidelines, and delivering exceptional service to customers throughout the loan process. The role involves significant interaction with various stakeholders, including legal counsel and third-party vendors, to facilitate loan closings and maintain customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Commercial Banker in obtaining corporate entity information and related loan documentation.
• Review loan documents prior to closing and close loans with customers.
• Oversee the loan documentation pipeline and ensure timely completion of the loan process.
• Identify clients' operational needs and recommend bank products/services.
• Serve as liaison with legal counsel, borrowers, and third-party vendors to expedite the closing process.
• Perform post-closing reviews to ensure loan files are complete and accurate.
• Obtain credit information and ensure sufficient loan collateral.
• Recognize selling opportunities and effectively cross-sell bank products.
• Work the Technical Exceptions (TE) list to perfect bank security interests in files.
• Disburse loan funds after closing and maintain ongoing customer relations.
• Communicate with Group Appraisal and Consolidated Loan Support regarding loan processing.
• Collect and analyze customer financial information and obtain updates annually.
• May have lending authority for secured loans up to $10,000.
• Serve as a resource to lower-level Loan Assistants.
• Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years banking or equivalent related experience, including 2 years as a Loan Assistant or equivalent loan operations.
• Working regulatory knowledge such as privacy, Regulation B, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Regulation Z, Truth in Lending, CRA, HMDA, and flood regulations required.
• Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or ability to register within 30 days required.
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Commercial Lending or ability to acquire within 90 days required.
• AA/AS degree preferred.
• Arvest experience preferred.
