About the position
The Commercial Loan Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting loan managers by providing analytical and modeling assistance to enhance the performance of a commercial loan portfolio. This position involves reviewing loan documents for compliance, responding to customer inquiries, and ensuring efficient processing of commercial loans.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and modeling support to loan managers.
- Review commercial loan documents for compliance and accuracy.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve problems.
- Identify and communicate points of exposure/inefficiency and propose solutions.
- Process and close commercial loans while providing accurate support.
- Assist in managing the loan officer portfolio.
- Stay updated on all laws and regulations related to loans.
- Complete responsibilities to maintain compliance with bank processes and procedures.
- Maintain open communication and provide quality customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ensure loan files contain documents with proper signatures and relevant data.
- Assemble and verify the accuracy of loan documentation.
Requirements
- Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
- Equivalent to a high school education.
- Excellent typing and word processing skills.
- Familiarity with loan origination software, word processing, database management, and Internet-based software programs.
- Laser Pro experience is a plus.
- Understanding of loan underwriting procedures and guidelines; familiarity with conventional and government loan programs.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to enlist cooperation from various stakeholders.
- Empathy and relationship skills to understand and address customer concerns.
