About the position
The Commercial Loan Collateral Perfection Specialist at Bremer Bank is responsible for managing collateral processing for commercial and agricultural loans, ensuring ongoing monitoring and timely release of collateral. This role is crucial in minimizing fraud-related losses and requires adherence to established guidelines for identifying and reacting to suspicious activities. The specialist will work closely with various lending units, including Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, Ag Lending, and SBA, to ensure compliance and efficiency in collateral management.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently perfect collateral such as UCC's, vehicle titles, and mortgage filings.
- Monitor collateral filing reports to ensure items are recorded in a timely manner; follow up on outstanding items as necessary.
- Review paid loan reports to identify any collateral releases necessary, and prepare any needed release documents.
- Serve as a resource for internal lending partners in researching collateral perfection or status questions.
- Demonstrate commitment to Bremer's risk management approach including compliance with all applicable industry regulations, state and federal regulations, and Bremer's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, with 1-2 years of collateral processing experience preferred.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
