Responsibilities

  • Interview loan applicants and request necessary information to complete the loan application process.
  • Request applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other pertinent information for loan evaluation.
  • Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine loan feasibility.
  • Correspond with or interview applicants and/or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Compile loan packages and submit to the loan committee for approval when appropriate, facilitating negotiation of loan structure with applicants.
  • Approve loans within specified limits or refer loans to the loan committee for approval.
  • Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
  • Assure timely loan closing and funding activities.
  • Identify and analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for commercial loans.
  • Manage an individual loan portfolio, including all collection and workout activities.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base, ensuring delinquent loans do not exceed 1% of the portfolio.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, making proactive business decisions to limit financial, regulatory, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Complete CA Forms and Document Checklists accurately at loan origination and ensure compliance with audit and review standards.
  • Participate in developing lending and deposit business for the company, expanding the client base through calls on clients and prospects.
  • Provide loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs.
  • Engage in company-sponsored and CRA activities that support the bank's mission and values.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis in finance or accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
  • Knowledge of company loan services, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high level of independent judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment.
