About the position

The Lead Locksmith Technician position is an integral part of our team and is key to the growth of the company. This role requires individuals who can thrive in a high-paced working environment, demonstrating both teamwork and independence. The Lead Locksmith position is hands-on and is geared toward individuals with a technical mindset. Ideal candidates will possess locksmithing knowledge and show a willingness to learn new technical methods and techniques. Key responsibilities include performing emergency work orders for commercial clients, installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial hardware, and having experience with safe, video surveillance, and door installations. Additionally, the role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining Access Control related hardware, creating and maintaining master key systems, and performing commercial lock re-keying and pinning. Troubleshooting various situations, cleaning, maintaining, adjusting, calibrating, and servicing equipment are also essential tasks. The Lead Locksmith Technician will be expected to cut keys by code and support operations by receiving verbal instructions from management or clients, performing small projects as directed, and completing paperwork accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency work orders for commercial clients.
  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial hardware.
  • Install, repair, and maintain Access Control related hardware.
  • Create and maintain master key systems.
  • Perform commercial lock re-keying and pinning of locks.
  • Troubleshoot with a variety of variables in situations.
  • Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used.
  • Cut keys by code.
  • Receive verbal instructions from management or clients/customers.
  • Perform small projects as directed by management.
  • Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical hands-on field experience in locksmithing, access control, door hardware, and other skilled trades.
  • Good relationship-building skills with a diverse population including all customers' partners, technicians, and all other company employees.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions at the same time.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to work safely on ladders.
  • Ability to drive in compliance with company vehicle policy.
  • Provide a high level of timely & accurate customer service.
  • Communicates effectively with the client to determine what services are needed.
  • Respond to general inquiries from customers/clients.
