The Commercial Manager is responsible for marketing, tendering and securing projects. They will supervise the day-to-day activities of support staff to ensure these responsibilities are successfully accomplished.
Responsibilities
Manage departments business development, proposals and project costing
Client maintenance and the development of new clients
Applies Fugro objectives, principles, and practices in the interpretation, organization, execution, and coordination of proposals of any complexity
Prepares proposal summary for approval by supervisor, and negotiates or adjusts as needed to suit client requirements
For projects of unique character, defines the scope, selects areas for investigation, and develops novel concepts, in collaboration with technical staff
Contract review in collaboration with legal
Contract insurance evaluation, along with asset insurance tracking
Track utilization of resources and assets
Helps maintain client database
Performs project post-mortems and follow-up with clients to gauge their level of satisfaction
Establishes monitors and controls project budgets, taking corrective action as necessary
Coordinate, support and reviews invoices for projects
Negotiates directly with the client when project needs to exceed scope, schedule or budget
Identifies new projects through contact with clients and market awareness
Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk
Assist in financial forecasting of projects
Assists with training, employee appraisals, as needed
Assist with Government reporting and audit preparations
Assists in the development of sales plans.
Requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel
Possess a Bachelor's in Engineering, Geosciences or Business
Have 8 or more years of experience as a commercial manager. Experience in offshore hydrography preferred
Has a good knowledge and understanding of the basics of multibeam, sidescan sonar, lidar, bathymetry, nautical charting, and geospatial activities
Occasional travel is required
Proficiency in the use of office administration and Database software.
