About the position

The Commercial Operations Manager (CO Manager) plays a crucial role within the Commercial Operations organization, responsible for managing sales and profit-and-loss performance in a designated area. This position involves overseeing local Sales Engineers and sales personnel while also managing individual territories and Key Accounts. The CO Manager is tasked with driving sales revenue, developing the sales team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining expense control and budgeting. Close collaboration with various departments is essential to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an individual territory and/or Key Accounts while overseeing the sales organization.
  • Execute approved business plans through Sales Engineers and sales support personnel.
  • Assist Sales Engineers in developing sales strategies and tactics for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence products.
  • Travel with representatives for sales calls and presentations.
  • Hire, develop, and supervise regional Sales Engineers and sales support personnel.
  • Maintain close relationships with Application Engineering, Product Management, and other departments for efficient processing of inquiries and proposals.
  • Provide administrative support and approval for direct reports, including expenses and PTO.
  • Ensure proper coverage of Key Accounts to maximize revenue and profit.
  • Manage customer satisfaction through sales and order fulfillment processes.
  • Monitor market and customer trends, relaying information to senior management.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts for resource allocation.
  • Prepare regional sales forecasts and individual sales goals for the team.
  • Review and approve highly discounted quotations to protect profitability.
  • Oversee Area Precision Centers and maintain company image.
  • Support local staff morale, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Review and approve monthly commission statements for direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Hexagon ethics expectations and code of conduct.
  • Support organizational policies related to safety and environmental protection.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably with technical training.
  • Five years of sales experience in an industrial environment with a strong record of sustained success.
  • Five years of business experience, with profit-loss experience desirable.
  • Sales management experience and success.
  • Metrology or manufacturing background and aptitude.
  • Proven leader, coach, and motivational speaker.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to motivate team players.
  • Salesforce.com experience.
