About the position

The Commercial Outside Sales Representative position at Orkin Pest Control is a full-time role focused on business-to-business (B2B) sales. This position is an excellent career opportunity for experienced outside sales professionals who are eager to develop new business customers within their assigned territory. The account manager will report directly to a District Sales Manager and will be responsible for self-generating new leads while effectively closing new commercial business in an outside sales environment. The role requires the account manager to develop and deliver presentations to key decision-makers, showcasing the technical features of Orkin's services. Candidates must possess a strong background in commercial prospecting and outside sales, particularly in a B2B context. The company offers an Award Winning Training Program designed to equip new hires with the necessary skills to succeed in this role. This includes training on how to prospect for sales, develop a productive daily schedule, initiate contact with potential customers, and build community relationships for referral and sales opportunities. Additionally, the account manager will conduct thorough inspections of potential customers' properties, prepare tailored proposals, and present these proposals to clients, explaining identified problems and proposed solutions. The ultimate goal is to close sales and achieve assigned performance objectives, contributing to the overall success of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business customers in the assigned area.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of outside sales experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a business-to-business setting (hospitality, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, business service, food service).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently.
  • A clean driving record and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check including a drug screen.
