About the position

The position involves providing comprehensive support to relationship managers who handle medium to large portfolios with varying degrees of complexity. The role is crucial in assisting with daily tasks related to underwriting and monitoring credit, both for existing and proposed requests. The individual will be responsible for delivering high-level customer service, aiding in cross-selling efforts, and executing special projects as directed by the department manager. Key responsibilities include preparing necessary documentation for loan processing, reviewing the status of existing loans, and taking appropriate actions on loans that are either maturing or past due. Additionally, the role includes assisting relationship managers during loan closings, ensuring that all aspects of the loan process are handled efficiently and effectively. In this role, the individual will support the Department Manager, Team Leader, and Relationship Managers in their sales and credit underwriting efforts. This includes conducting industry and company research, preparing Blue memos, and assisting in the sales proposal process. The position may also involve accompanying Relationship Managers on customer and prospect calls, as well as participating in various sales and customer-oriented projects. The individual will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of all customers, businesses, and potential opportunities, which is essential for effective loan document preparation and coordination with third parties. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring customer performance and industry conditions to ensure that loans remain acceptable risks. This includes tracking financial statements, covenants, and insurance requirements, as well as updating Dual Risk Ratings and Admin Loan Status Reports. The individual will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the loan portfolio and supporting the overall objectives of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Department Manager, Team Leader, and Relationship Managers in sales and credit underwriting efforts.
  • Conduct industry and company research to assist in the sales proposal process.
  • Prepare Blue memos and assist in various sales/customer-oriented projects.
  • Complete all requirements of loan bookings, including preparation, review, documentation, and filing.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all customers, businesses, and prospect opportunities.
  • Prepare all loan documents, including coordinating third-party documents.
  • Collect and review all required collateral information.
  • Review current account status, including Past Due accounts and Notes Matured, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Monitor ongoing customer performance and industry information to assess loan risk.
