About the position

Zions Bank is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager to join its Specialty Loan Servicing group. This position is pivotal in underwriting and servicing a portfolio of commercial loan relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for spreading and analyzing financial statements, addressing industry risks, collateral requirements, loan structuring and pricing, and conducting credit analysis. Additionally, the role involves monitoring credit performance and preparing loan presentations. The Commercial Portfolio Manager will handle reporting on loans, which includes tracking past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, and providing financial performance updates to ensure portfolio profitability. The role requires excellent customer service skills, with an emphasis on clear communication and approachability. The Commercial Portfolio Manager will manage existing client relationships and assist Relationship Managers and Branch Managers with credit requests. High-level collaboration and communication with both internal and external clients regarding sensitive and routine matters are essential. The position also involves expanding, building, and maintaining relationships to achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction. Flexibility to support other responsibilities as needed for the business is also a key aspect of this role. Ideal candidates will typically possess a Bachelor's degree and have 4+ years of credit-associated lending experience or 7+ years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also meet qualifications. A comprehensive understanding of underwriting, advanced knowledge of commercial lending, and deep knowledge of credit analysis are required. Experience with bank loan and deposit systems is preferred, along with excellent writing and verbal communication skills, particularly in interactions with senior-level individuals. Advanced expertise in MS Office, especially Excel, is also necessary.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of credit-associated lending or 7+ years of related experience.

  • Deep knowledge of credit analysis, spreading and analyzing financial statements, credit scoring, and loan documentation.
  • Experience with bank loan and deposit systems preferred, such as Credit Lead, Aviva, Tax Analysis, and Moody's.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with confidence in working with internal and external senior-level individuals.
  • Advanced level expertise with MS Office, particularly Excel.
