About the position

The AP/Hons Commercial Product Manager at Pearson is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of products aimed at enhancing college and career readiness. This role focuses on maximizing customer value and learner outcomes through strategic product management, market analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position emphasizes the importance of understanding market needs and driving product innovation to deliver significant value to users and revenue for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities and pain points to maximize commercial and learner outcomes.
  • Partner with Marketing to align go-to-market strategies and annual plans with business goals.
  • Build and manage relationships with leaders in AP courses, advisory boards, and national conferences.
  • Drive product launches, educate sales teams, and craft compelling product stories that resonate with the market.
  • Lead research to gather market insights and competitive analysis, using data to shape product strategies and future portfolio development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams like Content Production, UX, and Marketing to create innovative products that improve learner outcomes and drive business value.
  • Continuously improve product performance post-launch, adapting to market needs and driving better outcomes for both learners and the business.

Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent preferred)
  • Product management experience, including managing digital products
  • Good understanding of education, AP/Honors, Dual Enrollment and Career and College Readiness programs and higher education
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)
  • Great insight into the needs of different markets and the opportunities within them
  • Competence to balance strategic thinking with a focus on operational delivery
  • Ability to tell a story using data and customer feedback to champion the problems to solve
  • Focus on building an inclusive culture and empowering cross-functional teams.

Benefits

  • Base annual salary of $125,000 - $145,000
