About the position

The AP/Hons Commercial Product Manager at Pearson is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of products aimed at enhancing College and Career Readiness. This role focuses on maximizing customer value and learner outcomes by identifying market opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving product strategies that align with business goals. The position emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement in product performance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities and pain points to maximize commercial and learner outcomes.
  • Partner with Marketing to align go-to-market strategies and annual plans with business goals.
  • Build and manage relationships with leaders in AP courses, advisory boards, and national conferences.
  • Drive product launches, educate sales teams, and craft compelling product stories.
  • Lead research to gather market insights and competitive analysis to shape product strategies.
  • Collaborate with teams like Content Production, UX, and Marketing to create innovative products.
  • Continuously improve product performance post-launch, adapting to market needs.

Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent preferred)
  • Product management experience, including managing digital products
  • Good understanding of education, AP/Honors, Dual Enrollment, and Career and College Readiness programs
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)
  • Great insight into the needs of different markets and opportunities within them
  • Passionate about applying design thinking principles
  • Competence to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
  • Ability to tell a story using data and customer feedback.
