About the position

The Commercial Project Manager (CPM) - Finance Controller at Siemens is responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of projects from the sales phase through execution to completion. This role involves sales controlling, performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle. The CPM collaborates with various stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to optimize financial results and manage risks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Levels of Authority approval guidelines for commercial aspects.
  • Analyze customer requirements and examine their commercial and contractual feasibility.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing and optimizing targeted financial results.
  • Perform financial planning, forecasting, controlling, and reconciliation of project cash flow.
  • Ensure data integrity between SAP back-end and specific front-end tools.
  • Set up financial performance plans based on the planned delivery schedule.
  • Monitor revenue recognition and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Support change management issues relating to project scope.
  • Obtain verification and approval of variations prior to customer submission.
  • Assess risks and opportunities and propose measures to prevent margin slippage.
  • Drive measures to improve project performance through claims and variation management.
  • Support Project Manager in timely issuing of invoices and managing Account Receivables.
  • Coordinate procurement processes to ensure best available bids and budget compliance.
  • Manage resolution of commercial issues and communicate with customers' representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Up to 3 Years of Experience in professional financial management of complex projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred or equivalent years of related experience.
  • 3 - 5 Years of Experience in professional financial management of complex projects.
  • Proficiency with SAP Modules.
