About the position

The Asset Manager I is responsible for managing a portfolio of loans, focusing on risk monitoring and providing exceptional customer service. This role is part of the Agency Finance Asset Management team at Capital One, where the individual will analyze financial statements, conduct property inspections, and manage client relationships while ensuring compliance with loan requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and property operating statements
• Conduct property inspections
• Review reserve draws
• Process lender consent requests, including related review of loan documents and other agreements
• Manage client relationships, providing excellent customer servicing while enforcing loan document/lender requirements
• Perform ongoing risk analysis, ensuring timely risk detection and appropriate monitoring
• Prepare loan and portfolio level status reports
• Comply with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
• At least 4 years of experience in commercial real estate
• At least 3 years of government-sponsored enterprise experience with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac or commercial mortgage-backed security experience

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics
• 3+ years of experience with loan asset management
• Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial analyses
• Proficiency in analyzing property operating statements, rent rolls, and borrower financial statements and in modeling complex financial scenarios
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
