About the position

The Asset Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of an assigned portfolio of loans, with a primary focus on monitoring risk while providing exceptional customer service. This position will be a member of the Agency Finance Asset Management team, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the loan portfolio. The Asset Manager will analyze financial statements and property operating statements to assess the performance of the loans and identify any potential risks. Regular property inspections will be conducted to ensure that the properties are being maintained according to the standards set forth in the loan agreements. In addition to monitoring the performance of the loans, the Asset Manager will review reserve draws and process lender consent requests, which includes a thorough review of loan documents and other agreements. Managing client relationships is a key aspect of this role, as the Asset Manager will provide excellent customer service while enforcing loan document and lender requirements. Ongoing risk analysis will be performed to ensure timely risk detection and appropriate monitoring, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the loan portfolio. The Asset Manager will also be responsible for preparing loan and portfolio level status reports, ensuring compliance with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to managing the portfolio and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements and property operating statements

  • Perform ongoing risk analysis, ensuring timely risk detection and appropriate monitoring

  • Comply with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in commercial real estate
  • At least 3 years of government-sponsored enterprise experience with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac or commercial mortgage-backed security experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics
  • 3+ years of experience with loan asset management
  • Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial analyses
  • Proficiency in analyzing property operating statements, rent rolls, and borrower financial statements and in modeling complex financial scenarios
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
