About the position

As a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager II, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial & Specialty Banking business development efforts. This position involves identifying and engaging with prospects and referrals on both a national and regional basis, coordinating calling efforts with bank team partners. Your primary responsibility will be to manage profitable client relationships effectively, collaborating with various departments within the bank, including Credit, Loan Operations, and Executive Management. You will be tasked with cross-selling the bank's lending, depository, and Treasury Management products to both new and existing clients. Additionally, you will assist in reviewing and structuring large, complex transactions, presenting deals to credit officers, and negotiating credit terms and legal documentation with clients and referrals. In this role, you will also manage an existing portfolio of clients, monitoring their operating performance through the review of monthly and quarterly financial statements, completing renewals and increases, conducting annual reviews, and preparing watch loan reports. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with credit standards and maintaining a positive image for the bank within the community by participating in local business functions and establishing referral contacts. Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues is essential, as is treating everyone with respect and consideration, regardless of their status or position. All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements. This position requires a disciplined approach to work, with a focus on detailed, specialized tasks, and a commitment to completing work on time. Responsibilities

  • Support Commercial & Specialty Banking business development by identifying and calling on prospects and referrals.
  • Coordinate calling efforts on identified prospects with bank team partners.
  • Manage profitable client relationships and collaborate with Credit, Loan Operations, and Executive Management.
  • Cross-sell the bank's lending, depository, and Treasury Management products to new and existing clients.
  • Assist in the review and structuring of large complex transactions and present deals to credit officers.
  • Negotiate credit terms and legal documentation with clients and referrals.
  • Lead underwriting on loan presentations to ensure the success and growth of an assigned portfolio.
  • Monitor the operating performance of an existing portfolio of clients, including reviewing financial statements and compliance with credit standards.
  • Participate in community and business functions to enhance the bank's image and establish referral contacts.
  • Build rapport with clients and fellow associates, treating others with respect and consideration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in commercial banking.
  • Experience in specialty banking or finance.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or certification in the field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in commercial banking.
  • Agribusiness credit background.
  • Moody's Risk Analyst experience.
  • Completed formal credit training program.
