About the position

This position primarily coordinates and manages the sale and development of excess property, as well as managing extensions of parking lots. The role involves property acquisition as needed and requires travel to various market areas for due diligence activities.

Responsibilities

• Travel to required market areas for due diligence activities, including identifying market conditions, prospecting, property valuation, and municipal engagement.
• Prepare, recommend, and implement a transaction strategy for selling excess property.
• Develop and maintain relationships with end users and development companies that align with the Meijer brand.
• Provide ongoing management of real estate transaction activities on behalf of Meijer.
• Obtain government approvals to assist internal customers and prospective buyers throughout buy/sell transactions.
• Simultaneously manage multiple acquisition and sale projects.
• Oversee the maintenance and general appearance requirements of out lots and excess properties.
• Manage extensions of store parking lots.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required or commensurate real estate experience.
• 5+ years of experience in real estate site acquisition.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and communicative skills.
• Demonstrated judgment, project management, business acumen, interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines to meet goals.
• Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
