The company is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to support its legal team in various aspects of real estate transactions. This role is crucial for ensuring that all legal documentation and processes are handled efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the company's real estate operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, including a Bachelor's degree and preferably a paralegal certification. With a minimum of five years of paralegal experience specifically in commercial real estate, the candidate should possess technical proficiency in legal software and the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong skills in legal research platforms are essential, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role demands a highly organized individual capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a keen attention to detail. Key responsibilities include assisting attorneys with commercial real estate transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, developments, and financings. The paralegal will conduct thorough due diligence for real estate transactions, draft and revise contracts, and maintain an organized system for tracking and storing company contracts and documents. Additionally, the paralegal will conduct research on relevant laws and regulations, serve as a liaison between the company and external parties, and collaborate with various internal departments to ensure alignment with corporate strategies. The position is designed for a proactive team player who can work effectively with minimal supervision and contribute meaningfully to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, developments, and financings.
  • Coordinate closings for real estate transactions.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence for real estate transactions, including title, survey, zoning, and environmental risk assessments.
  • Draft and revise contracts, review, analyze, and abstract agreements, ensuring accurate representation of key terms.
  • Prepare executive summaries of documentation, due diligence, or transaction status.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking and storing company contracts and documents.
  • Conduct research on federal, state, and local laws and regulations, analyzing and summarizing zoning ordinances and statutes for review by attorneys.
  • Coordinate entity filings with the Secretary of State.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Development and Asset Services to ensure alignment with corporate strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and outside counsel, title insurance companies, investors, and mortgage lenders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Paralegal certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in commercial real estate.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong skills in legal research platforms.
