About the position

The Commercial Relationship Manager at Uwharrie Bank is responsible for developing and managing commercial customer relationships, ensuring personalized service, and expanding the bank's presence in Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas. This role involves reviewing loan applications, approving commercial loan requests, and participating in business development programs within a full relationship banking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage commercial customer relationships in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and disposition.
  • Approve commercial loan requests within pre-determined authority.
  • Participate in new business development programs and in commercial account administration.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in business or a related subject, or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years experience in a financial institution with emphasis on lending, loan operations and support is required.
  • Strong analytical and negotiating skills are required.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate financial statements to assure proper net interest rate margins is preferred.
  • Well-refined human relations and sales skills are critical in dealing with customers and prospective customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • License(s) to sell securities and other investment/insurance products is preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited commercial training program is preferred.
  • Experience in managing commercial loan portfolios in a community banking environment is preferred.
  • Experience in other areas of financial services would be beneficial.
