About the position

The Commercial Review Appraiser at First Foundation Bank is responsible for providing appraisal services to the bank's lending community. This role involves reviewing commercial appraisals for compliance and value accuracy, managing the workflow of appraisal assignments, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The position is hybrid, requiring periodic office attendance, and offers a competitive salary range along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Identify, request, and manage all commercial real estate appraisals
• Review and approve real estate appraisals for USPAP compliance and value conclusion appropriateness
• Manage the approved appraiser panel and submit it to the Board for confirmation
• Act as a resource for credit and production on appraisal issues and regulatory requirements
• Assist Special Assets and/or Credit with impairment analysis for real estate secured credits as needed
• Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations and complete required training
• Coach, mentor, or train others
• Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for credit
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must hold a California Certified General license
• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 7 to 12 years of fee appraisal report writing experience
• Solid familiarity with USPAP, FIRREA, and IAG regulations
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint

Nice-to-haves

• MAI Designation preferred but not required
• Minimal experience in reviewing commercial real estate appraisals is preferred
• Familiarity with RIMS is preferred but not required
